Marŝarto Awards 2024 for Artists, Historian, Journalist or Creators – Submit Your Entry

121

All you dreamers, walkers, and creators, take note! Are you prepared to turn your regular walks into an artistic canvas? The Marłarto Awards aim to question your understanding of walking as a profoundly creative experience and a physical exercise. This one-of-a-kind competition, held in October to coincide with Walktober’s celebratory vibe, is intended to honor the world’s best walking artwork.

Is anything Up for Grabs?

This platform lets you make your walking trips come to life—it’s not just another painting competition! A significant cash reward of up to €1000 is available to Marŝarto Awards winners. Regardless of your profession—artist, historian, writer, or just someone who enjoys traveling on foot—your imaginative walking piece can bring you substantial financial benefits and widespread fame.

Rewards and Benefits

While champions and honorable mentions receive a tangible award and monetary rewards of 500 and 200 euros, shortlisted entries gain publicity and bragging rights.

However, the prize pool can grow substantially through our membership program, which functions similarly to a crowdfunding initiative. If support levels are reached, the financial award for winners might increase to 1000 euros, and honorable mentions could get as much as 400 euros.

Qualifications and Submission

You can enter if you produced any walking-related art in 2024. When submitting an entry for the Marłarto Awards, remember that sound walks have a separate category under the Sound Walk September Awards.

You can work in various formats and fields, such as the arts, history, medicine, social work, or ecology. Sending in your work via the walk · listening or creating a website is crucial. Start by exploring our archives, locating the “Submit” button, or going straight to the submission form.

How to Apply and The Selection Process?

You can submit your entry as per this official notice (https://walklistencreate.org/awards/marsarto-awards/) here at https://walklistencreate.org/tell-us-about-your-walking-piece/ before September 30, 2024.

The participation of the general people and a professional Online Jury adds to the excitement of the Marłarto Awards. Following creating a shortlist by the Online Jury, the Grand Jury selects the winners using jointly determined standards.

Beginning in 2024, public participation will also be essential. The entry that receives the most likes—and hasn’t been selected for shortlisting by the Online Jury—will also be included in the final list. Thus, remember to cast your votes for your favorites!
